The Mexican Gulf Coast & Campeche
Veracruz, Campeche Bank and the Yucatan
Veracruz and the Campeche Bank were the Spanish treasure fleets' American terminus, and later a route for tankers and cargo ships.
Norte gales and the shoals of the Campeche Bank wrecked fleets from the sixteenth century onward, including some of the earliest European wrecks in the Americas.
