YDT-14
Diving Tender · United States · Lost 2000 · The Gulf of Mexico
A WWII Navy utility ship turned diving tender, sunk off Pensacola in 2000 alongside her sister ship YDT-15.

The Vessel and Her Loss
Built in 1942 at Erie, Pennsylvania, this vessel served the Navy as a utility ship in San Juan, Norfolk, and Key West before being redesignated a diving tender, YDT-14, in 1974. She and her sister ship YDT-15 were sunk together off Pensacola in April 2000 as artificial reefs, and YDT-14 remains one of the best-preserved and most popular dives on the Florida Panhandle Shipwreck Trail.
