The Vessel and Her Loss
Built in 1973 by Halter Marine as an anchor-handling tug supply vessel, Pete Tide II spent about two decades ferrying crews and materials to Gulf of Mexico oil rigs. Retired from service, she was sunk as an artificial reef off Pensacola in 1993 and is now one of the Florida Panhandle Shipwreck Trail's most popular dives, with three decks of accessible superstructure.
