Mizpah
Yacht · United States · Lost 1968 · Florida's Atlantic Coast
A 1920s luxury yacht turned wartime patrol vessel now lies broken but popular with divers off Palm Beach.

The Vessel and Her Loss
Built in 1926 as a private luxury yacht, Mizpah was taken into U.S. Navy service as a patrol vessel during World War II. After her naval and later civilian careers ended, she was scuttled off Palm Beach in 1968 to form an artificial reef. Decades of storms have collapsed much of her structure, but the wreck remains a well-known stop on the Palm Beach Wreck Trek.
