Hudson Bay & Hudson Strait
York Factory, Churchill and the Strait
Hudson Bay was the Hudson's Bay Company's route to the interior for two and a half centuries, reached through the ice of Hudson Strait.
Ice crushed and stranded supply ships from the seventeenth century onward, and the Strait remains among the most hazardous seasonal passages in North America.
