Uribe 121
Naval Patrol Vessel · Mexico · Lost 2015 · Baja California & the Mexican Pacific
A retired Mexican Navy patrol ship deliberately sunk off Rosarito Beach in 2015 to found Baja California's first artificial reef.

The Vessel and Her Loss
The Uribe 121 spent decades as a Mexican Navy patrol vessel before being retired after a bridge fire. In 2015, after years of planning by local divers and officials, she was towed to El Descanso Bay off Rosarito Beach and scuttled with explosives, becoming Baja California's first intentionally sunk artificial reef. She now rests upright and is a popular recreational dive site.
