The Vessel and Her Loss
Sky Rocket was an American privateer present with the 1779 Penobscot Expedition fleet, taking part in the opening attacks on the British warships Albany, Nautilus and North guarding Majabigwaduce. When a British relief squadron arrived and the American fleet was forced to retreat up the Penobscot River, Sky Rocket was lost with most of the other vessels, destroyed to keep her from British hands.
