The Vessel and Her Loss
Norma was built at De Pere in 1867; the service narrative names J.S. Monroe as builder. Captain W.P. Kirtland used her in coastal trade around Green Bay. She capsized in August 1898, losing crewman Louis Tilman, but was repaired and returned to service. Blown ashore at Egg Harbor on September 11, 1900, she became a total loss. Her cargo and rigging were later transferred to William Finch, which also wrecked.
