The Vessel and Her Loss
Lesleen M was a 165-foot inter-island freighter that Saint Lucia's Department of Fisheries sank in the Bay of Anse Cochon in October 1986 as part of a program to establish artificial reefs. She settled upright on a sandy bottom and has since become encrusted with coral and sponges, serving as a habitat for reef fish and sea turtles.
