The Vessel and Her Loss
Harvey Bissell was built at Toledo in 1866 as a barkentine. It was converted to a schooner in 1874 and later to a two-masted tow barge. After leaking near Middle Island with lumber aboard, it was towed to Alpena. It sank at the dock and was abandoned.
