The Vessel and Her Loss
City of Marinette was a three-masted schooner owned by Chris Braunsdorf of Clay Banks. Wisconsin Shipwrecks records earlier strandings followed by release, including one in May 1894. Its final-voyage account describes the vessel being blown ashore while anchored and receiving lumber from a small scow. She remained damaged on the beach through summer and went to pieces by fall. The exact sequence and day of the final stranding are not established.
