The Vessel and Her Loss

She returned to service in summer 1898 after her enrollment had been surrendered as unfit in June 1897. On October 30, 1898, she dragged anchor at Hedgehog Harbor, struck bottom at the pier and broke apart. Her final enrollment was surrendered on December 1, 1898 after the loss.
